What is the Stoke Community Empowerment Network?

The Community Empowerment Network is a vehicle for linking the community and voluntary sectors with the Local Strategic Partnership. We support people from the voluntary and community sector to sit on this partnership so that their expertise will be represented at decision making level in the city. This brings together a range of organisations from large ‘professional’ voluntary agencies to the smallest community or residents group.

We are responsible for getting information about the Local Strategic Partnership out to all sections of the community and for providing ways in which people who would benefit most from improvements in service design and delivery can realistically get involved in discussing and planning how the services could be changed.

We  produce a quarterly newsletter and regular e mail news bulletins.  If you wish to contribute, or you have an upcoming event that you would like to advertise then please contact us on the above number. You can view newsletters on our News Events and Articles page....

How is it funded?

Through the Local Area Agreement via the Local Strategic Partnership.

Who gets this special funding?

The 88 neighbourhood renewal areas in the country that are in need of special support to help voluntary, community and citywide communities to become involved in the renewal process at whatever level they wish.

How can we join the Network?
